Bethune-Cookman University Belongs to All of Us!
On September 1, 2021 The Bethune-Cookman University Board of Trustees voted to sever its relationship with the National Alumni Association (NAA) and to start its own organization, a “direct service organization” (DSO). It also voted to send the NAA a cease and desist letter prohibiting use of the name, “Bethune- Cookman University '' and its logo. Additionally, the Bethune-Cookman University Board of Trustees voted to remove the NAA representative from the board effective immediately and cease all further communication with the NAA.
Since this time, the NAA Executive Board has voted to enlist the support of an ad hoc committee to assist in navigating through this process of response and with transformation of the organization's structure, objectives, and culture. This taskforce was officially appointed by the President of the National Alumni Association (NAA) on September 7, 2021 and seeks to support the NAA with this initiative and other special projects such as improving internal processes and operations within key areas of focus for the NAA.

September 7, 2021- NAA special taskforce was approved by the NAA Executive Board and appointed by the President of the NAA.

September 10, 2021- The NAA retained The Walker Law Office, P.A as legal counsel to pursue meditation with the B-CU board of trustees.

September 13, 2021- Attorney Walker submitted an official letter of correspondence via email to each member of the Board of Trustees.

September 14, 2021- This webpage was created to ensure transparency, accountability, and enhanced support within the B-CU National Alumni Association community.

September 17, 2021- The National Alumni Association received a formal cease and desist letter from the legal representation of Bethune- Cookman University.
